HYDER ALI
BHIMJI, FCA
Mr. Hyder Ali Bhimji, Senior Partner of the Firm, entered
into the profession in 1954 after he qualified as a Registered
Accountant in that year. He became a fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Pakistan on its formation in 1961. He is also a
first-class Law Graduate of Karachi University, a member of the
Institute of Management Accountants (USA) and Fellow of the Association
of Accounting Technicians
(UK).
Before joining the Firm, he was a senior partner in Nariman Hyder
Bhimji & Co., a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, having
offices at Karachi and Dacca (former East Pakistan) from 1st May 1955 to
February 1970.
He was also partner of Touche, Ross, Baily and Smart,
Pakistan representing the international accounting firm in Pakistan from 1964 to 1970. On 1 st March 1970,
Mr. Bhimji became a senior partner in the Firm with offices at Karachi
and Dacca(former East Pakistan). The office in East Pakistan functioned
till the fall of Daccai n December, 1971.
Since 1955, Mr. Bhimji has been in professional practice,
supervising audits of Banks, Insurance Companies, Textile Mills, Jute
Mills, Sugar Mills,
etc.
He has also been rendering professional services in the
fields of Taxation and Management Consultancy, where he is actively
engaged in advising clients on capital structure, optimal financing,
capital budgeting, cash flow, financial ratio analysis, financial and
taxation aspects of agreements for royalties, foreign collaboration and
other technical agreements, prospective investments, financial
re-organization, costing and accounting systems and tax planning.
As a senior partner of the firm, Mr. Bhimji has actively
particpated in the activities of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Pakistan (ICAP) since 1979, when he was elected as a member of the
Council of the Institute. He is Ex-Chairman of the Board of Studies of
the ICAP and is also Ex-member of the Examination Committee of the ICAP.
He is a past member of the Auditing Practices Committee, Technical
Services Committee and Corporate Law Committee of the ICAP. In 1979, he
attended the 9th Conference of confederation and Pacific Accountants
held in Manila.
He also attended the 10th Conference of Asian and Pacific
Accountants held in New Delhi in 1983 and various other international
and national seminars from time to time.
He is also a member of the Rotary Club Karachi and its
Honorary
Auditor.
He has attended various Annual Conferences of Kreston
International held in different
countries. |
